# Activate Your RBC Credit Card by Phone: Official Numbers

If you prefer not to activate online, you can call RBC to activate your credit card. Use the number that matches your card type, and always check it against the sticker on your card or the official RBC website.

## Official activation numbers

| - | - |
| Personal or Business Banking credit card | 1-877-900-5900 or 1-800-769-2512 |
| Private Banking credit card | 1-888-769-2585 |
| Reactivate a cancelled or closed card | 1-800-769-2512 |

> Your new card usually comes with a sticker showing the activation number. Calling that number is the safest option.

## Activate over the phone

**1. Have your card ready**

Keep your new card in hand before you call.

**2. Call the official number**

Dial the number for your card type from the table above.

**3. Follow the prompts**

Answer the identity questions and complete activation.

**4. Secure your card**

Sign the back of the card if it has a signature strip and destroy any old card it replaces.

> RBC will never ask you for your full PIN or Online Banking password over the phone. Don't share card details on calls you didn't start.
