BalanceProtector Max is optional insurance coverage for your RBC credit card balance. If you’re eligible, you can apply while activating your card or at any time after activation.

Apply during activation

Sign in

Sign in to RBC Online Banking with your Client Card number or username and password.

Select your new card

Choose your new credit card on the Accounts Summary page.

Activate and apply

Select Activate My Credit Card and follow the prompts to activate and apply for BalanceProtector Max.
Applying during activation is optional. You can skip it and activate your card normally.

Apply after activation

You can apply any time after your card is active:
  • Call RBC Cards Sales and Service at 1-800-769-2512
  • Apply in RBC Online Banking
  • Visit an RBC branch
