Once your RBC credit card is active, take a few minutes to secure it. Sign the back of the card if it has a signature strip, and destroy any older card it replaces.

Right after activation

1

Sign your card

If your card has a signature strip on the back, sign it.
2

Destroy your old card

If you’re replacing an older card, cut it up and throw it away.
3

Check your PIN for travel

Some terminals and ATMs outside Canada won’t accept a PIN longer than 4 digits. Change your PIN before you travel if needed.

Lock your card

If you misplace your card, lock it temporarily in RBC Online Banking or the RBC Mobile app. Select the card and switch the Lock Card toggle. Switch it off again to unlock.

Lost, stolen, or fraud
